Rilski Sportist took a very important win over Eurohold BIBL winner Levski and moved to 5th place in NBL. In "Arena Samokov" there was a very interesting game that was decided in the final minutes. The hosts won at the end 86-77.
Rilski started better and took a double digit lead late in the first quarter then closing it 25-16. At the start of the second the lead went up, 30-16, but then Levski used a run to close the gap to 5. From then on until the end of the half the difference was between 4 and 8 points as Rilski had the edge at the end of it, 43-39.
After the break Levski even took the lead and then the teams exchanged it 4 times. Near the end of the third quarter Rilski took a 4-point lead and kept it until the end of it, 65-60. The hosts started the fourth quarter with a 7-0 run but then Levski nearly tied the game at 75-74. In the final minutes Rilski had more luck and eventually won the game.
Aleksandar Gruev was the top player in the game with his 22 points, 8 assists and 4 rebounds. Bogdan Boev added 16 points and Travis Peterson 15 and 9 boards for the winners.
