The women’s team of RilskiSportist had the greatest moment in their history winning the bronze medals in the Bulgarian Cup. The girls outplayed Beroe07 at Arena Samokov with 85-66 and deservingly won the third place. In addition that was the first appearance for the team in the Final Four of this tournament.
The game started better for the guests from Stara Zagora who scored some consecutive baskets but soon after that RislkiSportist started playing very aggressively on offence and took the lead by the end of the first quarter (27-21). In this first quarter HristinaIvanova was unstoppable for the hosts scoring 12 points.
During the second quarter the girls from Samokov continued to be the dominant team on the court and increased their lead to 9 points a few minutes before the half-time break (41-32), but thanks to AlbenaBachkova and RalitsaNanevaBeroe07 managed to cut the lead a little bit and the first half ended at 44-42.
The second half started with an impressive 15-0 run for RilskiSportist and in the 27th minute of the game the score was 59-42. The third quarter finished 24-8 as Beroe07 scored their first basket not until the 7th minute of the quarter. Before the last 10 minutes the winner was already obvious and the fourth quarter only formed the final score.
AgnesaDoychinova once more stood above all other players scoring 33 points and collecting 13 rebounds, proving to be the most valuable player in the tournament this season.
HristinaIvanova played one of her best games for RilskiSportist finishing with 25 points and 6 boards (5/5 from the three-point arc). GalinaStancheva and IvaTerzieva also played well in the game, finishing, respectively, with 14 points and 4 assists and 7 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.
For Beroe07ZhanetZhelyova scored 23 points, adding 8 rebounds to them, AlbenaBachkova finished with 14 points and ZlatinaKaloferova had 13.
